Hêlîn Alas negotiates the mythical and affective dimensions of scripts that promise societal belonging.
Through assemblage, sculpture, photography, and performance, Alas creates model like scenarios in which the (often unspoken) currencies for successfully locating oneself within different social spaces are microscopically revealed. In this regard, Alas often employs the lens of autofictional role play and thus her own positioning to test the conditions for mobility within these fields in an exemplary way.

Her work has been shown at Museum Brandhorst (Munich, DE), BPA// Raum (Berlin, DE), and Loggia (Munich, DE) as well as in international group exhibitions. Recognized with a Kunstfonds grant in 2022 and nominated for the ars viva Prize, her work engages critically with themes of systemic inequality and personal identity, gathering attention from leading publications and art platforms.
